Claire brings over 20 years of experience teaching first and second grade in public schools across Montgomery County (MCPS), Washington, D.C. (DCPS), and Austin, Texas. She currently works with the DC Reading Clinic, where she trains educators in evidence-based approaches for supporting striving readers.
Claire is certified in the I.M.S.E. Orton-Gillingham method and holds a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia from the University of Florida. Her instruction is grounded in research and tailored to meet the individual needs of each learner. Claire is also fluent in Spanish. She spent eight years as a Dual Language teacher, leading instruction in the Spanish component of the program and supporting biliteracy development.
A sensitive and patient educator, Claire is passionate about making learning both effective and enjoyable. She aims to build her students’ confidence as well as their skills.
