Bailey is from a small town in New Hampshire, where she was raised by a supportive community that instilled in her a deep love of learning and connectedness. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics from Lesley University in 2022. During her time there, she developed a growing interest in the mechanics of the education system and how legislation and policy affect educators, students, and families on a daily basis.
This curiosity evolved into a passion for education policy, ultimately leading her to Washington, DC, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Leadership at American University. Now equipped with a policy-informed perspective, Bailey is teaching high school math to gain invaluable classroom experience before transitioning fully into the policy sphere.
She has strong interests in social-emotional learning and in making mathematics meaningful through purposeful, real-world applications. Bailey views education as a powerful tool for affirmation, empowerment, and equity.
Outside the classroom (or a tutoring session!), she enjoys exploring neighborhoods around the DMV, spending time with her dog, and hunting for hidden gems while thrifting and antiquing.
