Benjamin is a research assistant currently studying how radiation affects the molecular makeup of organs in the human body. Originally from Massachusetts, he graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
During his time at UMass Amherst, Benjamin was actively involved in teaching and tutoring. He served as a teaching assistant for introductory biochemistry laboratory and physical chemistry courses and worked with the university’s Learning Resource Center, where he tutored students in STEM subjects including calculus and general chemistry.
Outside of his academic and research work, Benjamin enjoys running and is currently training for a marathon with the goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He also plays piano, with a particular appreciation for classical works by composers such as Rachmaninoff and Chopin.
